Arcade Fire and Matt Bonner Charity Extravaganza
Finally, there is a Pro-Am game I might actually be able to play in! So far, no other leagues have accepted my bid. Oh well, here goes one last shot.
Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler announced plans for a special charity basketball match in his hometown.
The singer is staging the 'POP vs. Jocks' event, featuring NBA stars including San Antonio Spurs' Matt Bonner and musicians such as Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson, at Montreal's McGill University Sports Centre Sept. 24.
The event, which is part of the POP Montreal International Music Festival, will also see Butler take part in the match along with his brother and band member Will Butler.
Arcade Fire's Régine Chassagne will play organ, and band member Richard Reed Parry will premiere a bicycle symphony called 'Drones' during the halftime show, which will also feature Kid Koala.
The band are due to perform a gig during the four-day festival Sept. 21. The POP Montreal International Music Festival will be held from Sept. 21-25.
